Kenneth P. Gurney lives in Albuquerque, NM, USA with his beloved Dianne. Life is good.
He grew up in Chicago-land (Chicago-land is a term for the city’s suburbs, in Kenneth’s case, the western suburbs) where he dreamed of becoming the left fielder for the Cubs and managed to work his way through school. He earned a BA in Art from Rockford College and spent 20 years as an artists. In 1993 he took up writing poetry.
If you decide to pick a fight with him, please realize he is 6’ 4” tall and over 210 pounds of ... of .... We have not yet quite determined exactly what he is made of but it seems to be pretty good stuff. (Not as good as dark belgian chocolate.)
Kenneth edits Adobe Walls, an anthology of New Mexico poetry.
Kenneth’s poetry appears on the web and in print regularly in the USA, Canada, England and occasionally in Austrailia. He hosts the Adobe Walls open mic at his favorite independent book store Page One Books.
His poem “Picture of the Christ & the Magdalene” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
If you were (and are) a part of the US poetry scene you may remember that Kenneth edited & produced: Hodge Podge Poetry (1995-1998 in print), Tamafyhr Mountain Poetry (1998-2007 on the web) and Origami Condom (2007-2008 on the web).
If you think you want to purchase one of his books (thank you if you do), you will discover his writing is all over the map with poems that have been published in everything from conservative christian publications to BDSM magazines, but mostly in that big bulging bell curve of in-between.
Say hello to Delphi for him when you meet her.
